When
it comes to group shots, most studio photographers tend to place everyone in front of
the camera and count to 3. But group photos can really be so much more. It can be when you can get creative and capture some
amazing photographs. It is ok to come out of your comfort zone and try
something new. You will be surprised by the outcome of the photographs.Timing is one of the important elements for a good group photograph. You need to know the exact time to press the shutter release button. If you push it to early you may have people not ready and if you push it to late you may miss the moment you wanted to capture.
Light is the most important factor in photography. Any amazing pictures are determined by how skillful the lighting was controlled. How not to add to much light and not enough light.
In photography, most people just think about the subject itself not the background, but actual the background is as important as the subject. A photograph taken outside can sometimes result better than a photograph taken inside in a closed room. By taking photograph outside you often have the benefit of natural light. You also have more of a variety of ways to take group shots if you are outside.
Perspective is what gives you a huge advantage over other photographers. You don’t always have to stick to just the ground. You could try different levels and people jumping in the air. Be creative and use your imagination. "You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved." - Ansel Adams
